The American Widow Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the new generation of those who have lost the heroes of yesterday, today and tomorrow, with an emphasis on healing through sharing stories, tears and laughter...
Military Widow to Military Widow.

We are currently in production with a documentary covering the lives and hardships of widows from the Iraq/Afghanistan Wars. From the day we met our spouses, to the knock on the door, these stories are a key to healing. Whether it be sharing your journey or listening to someone else, we all have the opportunity to help others in our shoes. After production has wrapped up, the documentary will be distributed to all the widows to come, as well as those who have already started their walk.

As well as the documentary and web-site, we hope to offer the many other services listed below:

  • A Hotline available 24 hours, 7 days a week. No counselors. You will be speaking to another widow who has dealt with what you have. You also have to option to dial the extension to a widow in your region or like situation. Click here to see the number and extensions.
  • A networking system that will connect you to individuals in your community who want to volunteer their time and services, whether it be babysitting or counseling, to show their thanks and appreciation for the sacrifice your family has made.
  • An un-biased enviroment where you make this organization what it is. Remember, your stories and experiences may be the ones that keep another military widow from giving up hope. We are all in the position to share, heal, and laugh with those who have lost their loved one in this time of war.
  • And more to come!!!! We are just in the beginning stages and I look forward to all of us celebrating, cherishing, and honoring the memory of our military spouse by connecting, helping and growing with the spouses left behind.
